The Night Tarot: Prophesying with Hags, Soothsayers and Edgewalkers with Suzanne Sterling

As part of an incredibly deep and witchy weeklong retreat in the Redwoods of Northern California, we work with the Night Cards of the Tarot: those guides to our hidden powers as prophets and edge walkers. Elements of Magic is a requirement for this course - see my Elements offering in April with horizon greene!

Welcome to the path of prophecy! In this working, we dive deep into our powers as soothsayers and our hag courage to say the thing that must be said. Your journey into the night begins by connecting to your soul card:  Are you The High Priestess, The Magician, The Hermit? In this path, you will find out which of the nine soul cards is yours and how to embody its strength, your strength; its magic, your own.

But this is just the first step on the hag’s path. Take another as you learn the deeper, ancient magic of your ancestor card. Is it The Wheel of Fortune, The Devil, Death, The Tower, The Moon?  Are you afraid of these cards? Where there is fear, there is power. These are the places where edgewalkers dwell, where hags and soothsayers gather and prophetic priestesses give voice to the forbidden truths. These are the tarot’s night cards and one of them belongs to you. What strange magic longs to sing through you? What kind of liberation is yours to hold and move and embody and crack open and set free? In this path, we go into the unknown. We embody the ugly, the rejected, the unsayable. We dance joy, cackle liberation and access our inner truths without being silenced by the story of normal. Our daily practice will cultivate chaos and other ways of knowing. We go beyond logic and awaken the irrefutable powers of our bodies and our voices. We return with the gift of earned wisdom.

Come, be held. Move with us, wail with us as we queer the hag, set the soothsayer free with visioning, Aspecting, trance and living tarot. Open the portal of prophecy for collective spells of liberation as The Morrigan calls us to be bolder than we have ever been. Gaze into the depths of the night and realize you are the hag we have been waiting for.

Prerequisites: Elements of Magic. This is not Tarot 101 and also no previous tarot experience is required. All bodies are welcome. (But leave your minds behind.)

To attend this class, you must register for California Withcamp! Yes, Witchcamp is as fun as it sounds. And is also a life-changing, deeply mysterious and gorgeous experience.

Elements of Magic: Casting Spells of Belonging with Abel G.

Elements of Magic: Casting Spells of Belonging with Abel G.

Enter into the witch’s circle and enter into a web of relations. Elements of Magic is the introductory course to the lineage, lore, and practices of our Reclaiming Tradition.  This tradition is one kind of home, one way of belonging...

How do we cast spells of belonging now?

We are devotional: we make offerings to this land: this air, this fire, this water, this earth, this mystery.

We are in relationship: we explore connection with our ancestors, our bodies and each other.

We learn and deepen the core practices of this tradition: We call upon the powers of circle casting, invocation, raising energy, and spell work.

We welcome all: As a collaborative tradition, the core of our path is working in community, with both our human and more-than-human kin and especially with all newcomers to Reclaiming Tradition.

We open the way to Brigid: Goddess of poetry and smithcraft, be with us as we name our relationship to this place and spark new magicks for now. Goddess of the well and the forge, be with us as we deepen our witchcraft and cast spells of belonging for all descendants in this time of the Great Turning.

Sand in the Hourglass: Channeling the Stories of Our Ancestors with Seraphina Capranos

Sand in the Hourglass: Channeling the Stories of Our Ancestors with Seraphina Capranos

What are the stories that our ancestors couldn’t tell? What stories do they want us to tell now? What is the mystery that wants to enter the world now, and what can our dead teach us about how to live the change that we and the world need? In this path, we will work with the wisdom of our beloved dead, from human to greenblood to galactic, and the transformative power of storytelling. We will cross the threshold into the realm of the dead, wander in the discomfort of uncertainty, see each other as allies in this ordeal, and return to tell the story of the wisdom and purpose that we have received. If you are called to this path, we ask that you prepare by researching your own ancestors: the individuals and or cultures of your people. All participants must have already taken Elements of Magic.
